Louella Jordan Lacour

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mrs. Louella Jordan LaCour will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2009 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Thornwell Cemetery under direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. Saturday until time of services. Mrs. LaCour died at 11:25 a.m., Monday, July 20, 2009 in the Jeff Davis Living Center. She was a native of Crowley and a resident of the Lake Arthur/Thornwell area for 42 years moving there from Iota. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Survivors include four daughters, Pearl LaCour Pete of Jennings, RayElla LaCour Stoneham of Houston, TX, Mildred LaCour Smith of Baton Rouge and Pamela LaCour of Lake Arthur; three sons, Gabriel LaCour, Jr. of Detroit, MI, Perkin LaCour of Houston, TX and Sylvester J. LaCour of Oklahoma City, OK; three brothers, Lester Jordan of Thornwell, Hilray Jordan of Basile and Elge Jordan of Lake Charles, 30 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Alzina Guillory Jordan; her husband, Gabriel LaCour, Sr.; one daughter, Anna LaCour Edwards and five sisters, Alvinea Guillory, Beulah Guillory, Hazel Guillory, Hilda Guillory and Beatrice Morrow; four brothers, Tony, Johnny, Buford and R.V. Jordan.
