Funeral services for Mrs. Lou Ellen (Smith) Gill, 85, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Funeral home visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Wednesday which is time of the services.

Mrs. Gill died at 4:00 a.m., Monday, January 25, 2016 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital.

Mrs. Gill was a lifelong resident of Jennings and a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Arthur. She loved to sew, knit, sing, grow roses and she was a good cook.

Survivors include three daughters, Marsha Benoit of Jennings, Shyrel Conner and husband Steve of Lake Arthur, Linda Bollich and husband Bull of Iota; one son, Charles (Chucky) Gill and wife Margie of Baton Rouge; one sister, Juanita Smith Lopez of Jennings; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Starkus Dewitt and Eva Boudreaux Smith; her husband, Charles Gill and two sisters, Betty Jean Duhon and Jeanita Gonthier.
