JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Loyce Lorraine Laughlin Richard, 83, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 2011 in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., today, Wednesday; and 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m., today, Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Mrs. Richard died at 8:25 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2011 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mrs. Richard was a native of Eunice and a resident of Jennings 60+ years moving here from Elton. She was a high school graduate and a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church where she volunteered with the grieving group. She was also a lay member of the Sisters of the Eucharistic Covenant and she volunteered many years at OLI and St. Maria Goretti Schools. Survivors include one son, James “Jay” Wyatt Richard of Savannah, GA; one sister, Merle L. Spinks of Lake Charles; two grandchildren, Ashley Rose Richard and Nicholas Richard both of Slidell, LA, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Richard is preceded in death by her parents, James Walter and Loyce Young Laughlin; her husband, Roland Richard; and one brother, James W. Sonny Laughlin.
