Funeral services for Mrs. Lorida Istre Schlesinger, 86, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2020 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings with Rev. Jay Alexius officiating.

Funeral home visitation will be held on Monday, August 24, 2020 from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. until the time of service.

A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Monday evening. 

Burial will be in the Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Mrs. Schlesinger spent most of her life in the Jennings and Lake Arthur area.  She enjoyed reading, playing dominos, cards, bingo, listening to Gospel music and dancing.  She cherished every moment spent with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Broussard, and Denice (Tony) Sonnier both of Jennings; son, Ricky (Carmen) LaFosse of Lake Arthur; seven grandchildren, Connie LeDoux, Shandell Milliman, Damesha Humphrey, Brittany Boutwell, Alanna McRee, Cory LaFosse and Amber LaFosse; and eight great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Pauline LaBouve Istre; her husbands, Allen Corea “AC” LaFosse and Albert Schlesinger; one daughter, Gwen Oliver; three sisters, Lindsey Eldie Camel, Ethel Benoit, Wilma Jean Fontenot; and one brother, Carlton Istre.

Pall bearers will be Dennis Istre, Michael Camel, Raylan LaFosse, Ray Doucet, Cory LaFosse, Mickie Ledoux and Ronnie Courville.
