JENNINGS A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Lorena OBlanc Ryder, 87, at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Very Rev. Anthony Fontenot officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., with a rosary led by Deacon Bennett McNeal being recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2012. Tuesday visitation is from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. Mrs. Ryder died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 2:30 a.m. in a local care facility. Mrs. Ryder was a native of Hayes, LA and lifelong resident of the Jennings/Lake Arthur area. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Ryder was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 1985, VFW Post 3686, and the Red Hat Society at Camelot Brookside. She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Jerry Ryder of Jennings and Lloyd and Shirley Ryder of Lake Arthur; daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Lincoln Spell of Crowley; sister, Libby Doucet of Iowa, four grandchildren, Lincoln (Angie) Spell, Jr., Lonica (Cordell) Trahan, Lance Spell and Toni (Larry) Lejeune, and 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ryder was preceded in death by her parents, Delma and Cora Moore OBlanc; her husband, Lloyd Ryder; sisters, Emily Young and Ivy Aucoin and brothers, Alzi, Aldes and Russell OBlanc.
