Funeral services for Lola  Belle Leckelt Gatte, 86, of Iota will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in Grace Community Church  with Pastor Kevin Colson officiating.  Burial will follow in Grace Community Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Visitation for Mrs. Gatte will begin at Grace Community Church on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. and continue until 8:00 p.m.  It will resume on Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. and continue until 10:00 a.m. service.

Mrs. Gatte was born on January 31, 1937, in Iota to Bill and Agnes Hebert Leckelt of Iota.  She was a lifelong member of the Iota/Gotts Cove community.   Mrs. Gatte took great care of her family.  She enjoyed listening to French music, cooking for her family and sitting outside, but she absolutely loved rocking all the grands.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Frieda Gatte of Gotts Cove; a son, Rodrick “Joe Boy” Gatte and wife Rhonetta of Gotts Cove; two daughters-in-law, Dannette Stagg and Myrna Gatte; three sisters-in-law, Betty Manuel, Verbie Miller and Sharley Fruge; two brothers-in-law, Floyd (Pat) Gatte and Clarence Gatte; eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and fifteen great greatgrandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Gatte; parents, Bill and Agnes Leckelt; four sons, Rocky Gatte, Kirt Gatte, Patrick Gatte and Baby Gatte; four brothers, Albert Leckelt, Edward Leckelt, Willie Leckelt, and Joe Leckelt; six sisters, Tootsie, Beatrice, Alice, Thelma, Annie and Lois; and two great grandchildren, Madison Gatte and Baby Granger.
