JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Lodias Trahan, 98, will be held at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Burial with full Military Graveside Rites will be in the Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday and 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services. Mr. Trahan died at 9:15 p.m., Monday, June 30, 2014 in the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home in Jennings. Mr. Trahan was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur and was a retired carpenter for the Jefferson Davis Parish School Board. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart, and Bronze Arrowhead. He loved gardening, fixing things and going to church. Survivors include his two daughters, Betty Jean, and Genevieve; one son, Earl; and one sister, Edith Crochet of Lake Charles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Demonstan and Aurelia Mallet Trahan; his wife, Ovalla Trahan; two sisters, Patsy Lantz and Ozite Thibodeaux; three brothers, Thomas Trahan, Marshall Trahan and Simon Trahan.
