Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie Fontenot Landry, 96, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Funeral home visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until 1:30 p.m. when we will depart for the church.

A rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Landry died at 9:00 a.m., Monday, March 24, 2014 in the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, La.

Mrs. Landry was a native of Mamou and a resident of Opelousas two years moving here from Thornwell. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur.

Survivors include one son, Allen Landry and wife Beverly of Erath; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and 4 great great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Landry; her parents, Reso and Elodie Guillory Fontenot; one daughter, Thelma Landry Broussard; one son, Gabriel Landry; one sister, Mazie Fontenot Schexnider; and three brothers, Rayo Fontenot, Zelian Fontenot, and Allenday Fontenot.
