JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Linus T. Hawkins, 87, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Douglas Broyles officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Jennings, LA. Funeral home visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday; and 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until time of services. Mr. Hawkins died at 6:00 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2013 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mr. Hawkins was a native of Olla, LA and a resident of Jennings for 53 years after moving here from Columbia, LA. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Lackawanna. He was a retired Surveying Engineer with the Louisiana Department of Public Works. He was a member of The Church of Christ, The National Rifle Association, Woodmen of the World, VFW Post #3686 and American Legion James O. Hall Post #19. Mr. Hawkins was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and fellowship at the hunting camp. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Barbara Mans Hawkins of Jennings; one daughter, Elizabeth Swinson and husband David of Nashville, TN; one son, Dr. Marshall Hawkins and wife Terri of Natchez, MS; and one sister, Carolyn Hawkins Carroll and husband Ben of Atlanta, GA. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Malloy and Carrie Lutie White Hawkins and brothers Dr. Harold C. Hawkins and James M. Hawkins and wife Maxine. Honorary Pallbearers are members of the Three Early Morning Coffee Clubs : Capital One Bank, Popeyes and Burger King.
