It is with sad hearts and sweet memories that the family of Linda Kay Oliver, 60, of Lake Arthur, announce her passing on September 11, 2022.
Ms. Oliver was born on May 31, 1962, in Iowa City, Iowa, to John Henry Pelham and Cecile Ellis Pelham Baie. She obtained her GED and worked as a handyman and homemaker. Ms. Oliver moved to the Lake Arthur community from Iowa in 2008.
She will be forever remembered as a very loving, caring, and giving person. She was an animal lover and adored her dog, Jasmine. Even though she was born in Iowa, after moving here, Linda, embraced the Cajun culture of South Louisiana and grew to love it. She loved life and was very open to those in need. She especially loved her family and the memories of time spent with her will never be forgotten. Linda was a hard worker and enjoyed landscaping, designing homes and being a hostess for family gatherings.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her soulmate and best friend, Jodie Oliver; four sisters, Brenda (Kenny) Diggins of State Center, Iowa, Tina Marie Pelham of Williston, North Dakota, Emily (Fernando) Garcia of State Center, Iowa and Joy (Frank) Kolbe of Marshalltown, Iowa; two brothers, John (Pamela) Pelham and Larry Ellis, all of Collins, Iowa; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family has chosen cremation under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
