Leroy Henry Gary

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Leroy Henry Gary, 77, of Jennings, will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evangeline, with Rev. Paul LaFleur officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mr. Gary will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel and will continue until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary scheduled for 6:30 p.m.  It will resume on Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. and continue until approximately 12:15 p.m., in time to leave for the church service.

Mr. Gary was born on January 14, 1946, to Henry and Clara Crochet Gary.  He was a high school graduate and later went to work in the oilfield industry as a supervisor.  He loved crawfishing, fishing, and hunting, enjoying all the bounties of his beloved Louisiana.  He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He lived in the Jennings community all his life.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Cherlyn Faye Hebert Gary; son-in-law, Darren Guidry; a sister, Lucy Deshotel; one brother, Merlin Gary; two grandchildren, Erik Guidry and Chelsea Guidry; two great grandchildren, Alexis Bergeaux and Ryan Guidry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Charmaine Guidry; sister, Laura Bergeaux; two brothers, Jimmie Gary and Ricky Gary.
