JENNINGS Leora Katan Daigle Lopez Sonnier Benoit Leora Katan Benoit, 94, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008, in Jennings American Legion Hospital. Katan is survived by her children; Elaine Joyce LeJeune, Robert Lopez and wife, Alice, Loynita Ingalls and husband, Larry, sister Dot Begnaud; grandchildren; Denise Lejeune, Carl LeJeune, Irwin LeJeune, Michael Lopez, Terry Lopez, Regina Collins, Linda Perron, Shelly Chisholm, Cherise Dardano; 24 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Katan was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Noah Lopez; second husband Steven Doc Sonnier; third husband, Eddie Benoit; one son, Wayne Lopez; 8 brothers and sisters, Levi Daigle, Roy Daigle, Rose Crowl, Ethel Weaver, Della Landry, Anderson Black Daigle, John Blanc Daigle, and Pete Daigle. Funeral home visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday; and 8:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Burial will be in the Lacassine Cemetery. The family would like to thank the many fine nurses and doctors at Jennings American Legion Hospital and Golden Age Nursing Home in Welsh for the wonderful help they have received in the last two months. Thank you also for the love and support from extended family members and friends.
