Leonard Dale Troutman, 74, of Roanoke, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Martha Parsons Troutman; daughter Elissa Troutman Turner (Kent); son Jim Troutman (Jenny); son John Troutman (Liz); five grandchildren, Seth Cradeur, Kate Cradeur, Sammy Cradeur, Isla Troutman, and James Troutman; and sisters Frances McCarty and Mary Kay Epperly.
Leonard is preceded in death by his father and mother, Francis and Irma Troutman; brothers Roy, Kenneth, Don, Harold, David, and Carl; and sister Debbie Demarest.
Leonard was a graduate of Roanoke High School and McNeese State University. He was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman. Leonard later taught and coached at Pecan Island High School and Welsh High School for over 30 years.
Leonard liked to fish, hunt, and spend time with family. He will be remembered by not only his family but the countless players he coached and students he taught. Leonard loved people and always knew someone anywhere he went. He will be missed. The family would like to especially thank Heart of Hospice, MD Anderson, and Dr. Christopher Achee.
Visitation will be at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the Roanoke Church of the Brethren, 205 W. 1st St., Roanoke, LA 70581 on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to MD Anderson at gifts.mdanderson.org.
