Leona Mae Mott

Lake Arthur Funeral services for Mrs. Leona Mae Cormier Mott, 78, will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 10, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mrs. Mott died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 8:05 a.m. at Harbor Hospital of Orange, Texas. Mrs. Mott was a native of Morse and had resided in Lake Arthur since 1954 moving there from Gueydan. She was a homemaker and was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Mott is survived by a brother, Wallace Cormier of California; a nephew, Darren Abshire and his wife, Dawn of Orange, TX; two great nephews, Aaron and Joshua Sonnier; a godson, Thomas Abshire and two great nieces, Taylor and Kennedy Abshire. Mrs. Mott was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Mott, her parents, Onezime and Belzire Abshire Cormier; three sisters, Yvonne Byrd, Beulah C. Vincent and Loucie Mae Cormier and four brothers, Gilford Abshire, Willie Cormier, J. C. Cormier and Cliford Cormier
