Funeral services for Mrs. Leona Istre Hine, 96, will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Bro. Douglas Broyles officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Hine died at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in her residence.

Funeral home visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until time of the service.

Mrs. Hine was a resident of Jennings most of her life and she worked as a nurse’s aide. She enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends. She loved being a nurse’s aide and was a fantastic mother and grandmother.

Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne Weigand of Washington, Martha Cashat of Jennings; two sons, Russell Hine of Jennings, Gerald Hine of Houston; two brothers, AJ Istre of Indiana, Robert Istre of Indiana; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Blanche Prather Istre; one daughter, Wilda Hine; one sister, Violet Hatten and two brothers, Stan and Wilford Istre.
