Leona Belle Whiddon

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Leona Alcock Whiddon, 85, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2009 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Beard officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., today, Friday; and 8:00 a.m., Saturday until time of services. Mrs. Whiddon died at 7:15 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2009 in her residence. Mrs. Whiddon was a lifetime resident of Jennings and was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Jennings High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Evangeline. Survivors include two sons, A. Dale Whiddon of Jennings and Ronnie R. Whiddon and wife Lela K of Evangeline; three sisters, Shirley Brown of Prescot, AZ, Betty Harrison of Lafayette, and Elaine Green of Jennings; two brothers, Gene Alcock of Jennings, Richard Alcock of Crowley, and two grandchildren, Tyra Whiddon Hebert and Brandon Whiddon, six great grandchildren, Kathryn, Mikheal, Gabrielle, Erik, Drake and Mallory. Preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Noel Triplett Alcock, her husband, Leroy N. Whiddon and two sisters, Connie Gerard and Margarite Wrono.
