Lelya "Totee" Marceaux

November 5, 1931 - March 29, 2025

With heavy hearts but joyous memories, we announce the passing of Lelya "Totee" Marceaux, who left this world peacefully on March 29, 2025, at the age of 93. A devoted resident of Jennings, Louisiana, Lelya was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who epitomized warmth and kindness.

Born on November 5, 1931, Lelya was a proud high school graduate who dedicated her life to her family as a cherished homemaker. Her greatest joy came from nurturing her loved ones, and she found delight in the simple pleasures of life. Lelya was a devout Catholic and an esteemed member of the Catholic Daughters, where she served her faith with grace and commitment.

Lelya's spirit will be lovingly remembered by her surviving family: her sons, Glenden (Sharla) Marceaux and Gerald Marceaux; her daughters, Ella Fontenot, Sandra Lapoint, and Monica Marceaux; 11 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. Her legacy of love, laughter, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Lelya had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed dancing with her beloved husband Vernice at DI's, where they created countless joyful memories together. She lived her life surrounded by love and adventure, inspiring all with her vivacious spirit.

Family and friends are invited to join us at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. A public viewing will take place on April 1, 2025, at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass at 10:00 AM with Rev. Keith Pellerin officiating. After the Mass, she will be laid to rest at the Thornwell Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

In honoring Lelya's legacy, we invite all whose lives she touched to join us as we celebrate her life, her faith, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind.

Lelya was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Vernice Marceaux; parents, Proford and Olydia Monceaux Woods; children, Betty Benoit, Skeith Marceaux; and her sister, Wilda Trahan.
