Laura Blanchard

Laura Jane Gotreaux Blanchard, 59, a lifelong resident of Jennings, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 27, at her home in Jennings.

Laura was born on June 7, 1963, in Jennings to Early “Chick” Gotreaux and Barbara Touchet Gotreaux.  She was a high school graduate.  Laura was extremely artistic, and her skill could be found in her paintings, and decorating for weddings and receptions.  She also enjoyed camping, painting, redoing furniture, gardening, and all kinds of crafting.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Gerald Blanchard of Jennings; daughter, Amber (Derek) Deere of Carlyss; son, Gerald Wayne Blanchard II, of Jennings; her sister, Rhonda (Bill) Georgepolous of Shreveport; brother, Steven Gotreaux of Jennings; and a grandchild, Jersey McCallon.

She was preceded in death by her two cherished sons, David Joseph Blanchard and Zachary David Blanchard; and one brother, Edward Gotreaux.

In accordance with her wishes, the family has chosen cremation under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
