Funeral services for Mr. Lorrett “Larry” John Breaux, Sr., 83, of Welsh will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mike Nolan officiating.  Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin on Monday, November 28, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. and continue until 9:00 p.m. It will resume Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.

Mr. Larry was born on March 13, 1939, in Lake Arthur to Elliot and Irene Racca Breaux. He traveled and lived in many different states.  He worked many different jobs throughout his lifetime. He started as a horse jockey, then owned Slims club in Kinder. He was a carpenter where he built homes and churches.  He was also a superintendent in the Construction industry. He was an avid pool player that won many tournaments.  After retiring he remolded houses and built cabinets. He enjoyed cutting grass, his family and playing dominoes.

He is survived by his five daughters, Kim Coker of Ponchatoula, Lisa Breaux of Florida, Terry (Gene Coats) Breaux of Robert, Kerry (Jeff) Breaux Flack of Ponchatoula, Donna Masson of Colorado; son Larry (Lynette) Breaux, Jr. of Iota; seven sisters, Lena (Melward) Doucet of Welsh, Laura Hunnings, of Pascagoula, Linda LeFevre, of Longview, Shirley Denson of Houma, Rita (Donald) Landry of Welsh, Telsa Breaux of Welsh, Lavern Hebert of Welsh; two sister in laws, Verna Breaux of Clute, TX, Lavonne Breaux of Gueydan; seventeen grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gloria Jean Perry Breaux, daughter, Kelly Breaux; sister, Melba Louviere; and two brothers, LeRoy and Hulan Breaux.

Pallbearers will be Cameron Masson, Harley Duhon, Dannis Phillips, Blaze Phillips, John Wayne LeGros, and Niles Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be David LeGros and Danny Gatte.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Cameron Masson and Telsie Breaux for the special care they have given over the last few years.
