Lais "Ricky" Ryder

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Lais James Ricky Ryder, 60, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Burial will be in the Gueydan Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. today, Tuesday until time of services on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. today, Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Ryder died at 11:30 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2013 in the Crowley American Legion Hospital. Mr. Ryder was an eight year resident of Lake Arthur moving here from Dallas, Texas. He was an air conditioner and refrigeration repairman. He was a loving father and grandfather and he loved gardening. Survivors include his mate, Veta Hicks; two daughters, Alicia Ryder of Abbeville, Dana Stelly of Forked Island; one son, Lais Ryder, Jr. of Maurice; three sisters, Jackie Broussard of Kaplan, Roxie Broussard and Shernel Broussard both of Forked Island, Lucinda Mire of Youngsville; two brothers, C.J. and John Ryder both of Abbeville; and four grandchildren, Daylan Ryder, Brant Stelly, Alayna Henry and Ahni Stelly. Mr. Ryder is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Theresa Marceaux Ryder.
