A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Kevin Dale Smith, 53, of Evangeline at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evangeline with Rev. Paul LaFleur officiating.

Burial will be in the St Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Funeral home visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday; and 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.

Mr. Smith died at 5:55 p.m., Monday, July 11, 2016 in his residence.

Mr. Smith was a lifelong resident of Evangeline and was a high school graduate. He was a technician in the oilfield. He loved to hunt and fish and was a diehard Saints and LSU fan.

He is survived by one son, Branden Smith and wife Erika of Newton, Texas; his father, Mr. Melvin Smith of Jennings; four sisters, Phyllis Lytle of Evangeline, Jessica LeJeune of Evangeline, Ellisia Kaye Miller of Monticello, AR, Melissa Joann Cormier and husband Joseph of Navarre, FL; three brothers, Edwin James Smith and wife Alice of Evangeline, Melvin Kyle Smith and wife Angie of Evangeline, Joel Neil Smith and wife Jeanne of Elizabeth, LA; and one grandchild, Skye Smith.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Marlene Parsley Smith.
