Kendolene "Kenny" Merceda Hylton

JENNINGS

Funeral services for Mrs. “Kenny” Kendolene Merceda Emerick Hylton, 90, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rob Wall officiating.

Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Welsh under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Funeral home visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, and from 8:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday.

Mrs. Hylton died at 11:22 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 at her residence in Roanoke.

Mrs. Hylton was a native of Grafton, West Virginia and a 70+ year resident of Roanoke.  She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, Class of 1944.  She was a past member of the Live Oak Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Southwest Louisiana Gem and Mineral Society.  She retired as a Librarian from the Jennings Carnegie Library with 17 years of service.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Afton Hylton of Roanoke, LA; daughter Rebecca Hylton of Baton Rouge, LA; sons, James Patrick Hylton of Welsh, LA and John Randolph Hylton and wife Julie Ann of Salem, OR and one granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Hylton Hays and husband Spenser.

Mrs. Hylton is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Louis and Thelma Groah Hylton.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Heart of Hospice or the hospice provider of your choice.
