Memorial services for Mrs. Karen “Kay” Ponder Coles, 68, of Jennings will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 12:00 p.m., in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Wayne Chapman officiating.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.

Karen was born September 10, 1954, in Jennings, to Lloyd and Margie Diedrich. She attended Welsh High School growing up. She was a resident of the Welsh community most her life. She grew up to be a home maker. She loved gardening and decorating in her spare time. Karen loved her family and cherished her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Keith Coles, Jr.; daughters, Kellie (Dylan) Beckham, of Dallas, Texas, Stephanie Guidry of Lake Arthur, Louisiana and Kitty Fontenot of Jennings, Louisiana; sister, Cheryl Abshire of Welsh, Louisiana; her grandchildren, Alex, Damon, Ivy and Natalie; and her great-grandchild, Austin.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Judy Diedrich and Cindy Diedrich; brother-in-law, Rick Abshire; and a nephew, Danny Hicks.

The family has chosen to respect the wishes of cremation. Cremation has been entrusted to Miguez Funeral Home.
