Kallen Ray Gaspard

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Kallen R. Gaspard, 76, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth and Msgr. Bobby Romero officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. Funeral home visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Wednesday; and 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:00pm on Wednesday. Mr. Gaspard died at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at his residence in Lake Arthur. Mr. Gaspard was a native of Cow Island and a resident of Lake Arthur since 1966 moving here from Abbeville. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired meter tender in the oilfield. He loved to laugh and dance. He loved farming, trees, cows and loved being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, shrimping, camping and hunting. He loved his grandchildren very much. He is survived by his wife, Jeanitta McLean Gaspard of Lake Arthur; three daughters, Sandi Maria Gaspard of Lake Charles, Robin Gaspard and husband Fernandald of Hayes, Jill Trahan and husband Shane of Lake Arthur; one son, Jude Kibodeaux of Lake Arthur; a daughter-in-law, Glynis Kibodeaux of Scott; two sisters, Gladys Dupuis of Ester, Dorothy Snoddy of Lafayette; and seven grandchildren, Lyndsie Pitre and husband Travis, Corey Gaspard, Devyn Trahan,Kaitlyn Trahan, Ashlyn Trahan, Rowan Trahan and Bailee Kibodeaux. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jedeon and Anna Lege Gaspard; one daughter, Toni Elizabeth Gaspard; son, Blaine Kibodeaux; two sisters, Ruby Romero, Wilda Vaughn; two brothers, Weston and Clifton Gaspard. Pallbearers will be Gerald Gaspard,Jessie Gaspard,Kendall Stelly,Shane Trahan, Fernandald Gaspard and Corey Gaspard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rowan Trahan,Jude Kibodeaux,Keith Broussard,Darvey Dupuis, Bobby Wilks and Travis Pitre.
