It is with heavy hearts to announce the passing of Justin Paul Deshotel, 36, of Hathaway. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be held on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday until the time of service.

Burial will take place in Doucet Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Justin was born on April 8, 1986, to Ernest Moss and Norma Deshotel, in Lafayette, Louisiana. He worked as a Roustabout in the Oil and Gas Industry. He enjoyed fishing, cutting grass and watching the San Francisco 49’ers Football. He loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed life to the fullest. He will always be in our hearts and will be never forgotten.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Norma (Nicholas) Velasquez of Roanoke; father, Ernest (Vicki) Moss of Hathaway; step father, James Dubroc; sisters, Paula (Coy) Myers of Lake Charles, Jamie (Darius) Levi of Jennings, Hallie Fontenot of Evangeline; brother, Christopher Savant of Elton; nieces, Brynley Myers, Kaisley Myers and Maylee Deshotel; and favorite cousin Brandy Cormier. 

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Emily Deshotel; grandfather, Allen Deshotel; grandfather, Ernest Fontenot; Aunt, 
Patricia Lacombe; cousin, Loretta Chaisson; and step-sister Ashley Fontenot.

Carrying Justin to his final place of rest will be Coy Myers, Errol Reed, Ernest Moss, Christopher Savant, Tristen Guidry and Nicholas Velasquez.
