Funeral services for Mrs. June Elizabeth Wilson Cormier, 90, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014 in the First Church of Christ with Bro. Jack Harris officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Saturday; and from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at the church.

June Elizabeth Cormier of Jennings, LA died at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 2, 2014. June, the wife of Ellis Cormier, the Boudin King, passed away at the Jennings American Legion Hospital. She is survived by a daughter, Linda McCluer of Jennings, and a son-in-law Tom Spell. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Robert McCluer and his wife Jolaine, Randy McCluer and his wife Barbara, and Sean Spell, and six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ali, Mia, Alex and Cecilia McCluer, and Chloe Spell. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte Cormier Spell.

Mrs. Cormier, a native of New Orleans and 70 year resident of Jennings, founded the Boudin King restaurant forty years ago with her late husband and later Cajun Way in Crowley. Known as the Boudin Queen, she will be remembered for her constant friendly presence in the restaurants dining room. The Cormiers used the restaurants success to provide charity and support for countless people in the local community. She was a long-time member of the First Church of Christ, where Ellis Cormier served as an Elder, and where they were active supporters of youth groups.
