Lake Arthur A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Elwin (Juanita) DeRouen, 89 will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Burial will be in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Visitation on Thursday, May 2, 2013 will be from 2:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Friday will be from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mrs. DeRouen died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 9:05 am in the Camelot Brookside Nursing Home. She was a native of Creole, LA and lifelong resident of Lake Arthur. Mrs. DeRouen was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, VFW Auxiliary and the Jean Lafitte Camping Club. She loved her family and spending time outside in her garden. Mrs. DeRouen is survived by her husband; Elwin DeRouen of Lake Arthur, two sons; Wilton (Linda) DeRouen of Lake Arthur and Ron (Mona) DeRouen of Lake Arthur and a daughter, Jackie DeRouen of Lake Arthur, 13 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Levia Joseph and Adaline LeBouef Trahan and three brothers, Dudley, Shirley and Bernard Trahan.
