The family of Mrs. Juanita Faye McCown Lopez, 67 of Jennings is heartbroken to  announce her passing. She gained her wings peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 8, 2021, in the Jeff Davis Living Center in Jennings. 

Mrs. Lopez was born on October 1, 1953, in Jennings to Johnathan Wilbur and Dorothy Rose Brown McCown.  She was a high school graduate.  Mrs. Lopez worked for several years as a tax preparer for H & R Block.  She also worked at different convenience stores where she enjoyed her time socializing with her customers.  After the loss of her beloved husband Wayne, she devoted her time to being a homemaker.

She enjoyed woodworking, puzzles, sewing, drinking coffee and socializing.

Mrs. Lopez leaves behind to cherish her memory, a daughter, Christa (Chris) Credeur of Arnaudville; son, Shane (Mena) Benoit of Welsh; two sisters, Sandy Myers of Welsh, and Jo Richard of Welsh; three brothers, Larry McCown of Moss Bluff, James McCown of Welsh, and Charles McCown of Baton Rouge; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Lopez; her parents; a sister, Bonnie Vaughn, and a brother Donald McCown.

In accordance with her wishes, her family has entrusted cremation to Miguez Funeral Home.
