Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Marie Bertrand Williams, 82, of Jennings, will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Kyle Sonnier officiating.  Interment will follow in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery in Lacassine under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mrs. Williams will begin on Sunday, July 16, 2023, will begin at 1:30 p.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. It will resume Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. and continue until the 10:00 a.m. service time.

Mrs. Williams was born in Hayes, LA to Clement Bertrand and Amanda Bourque Bertrand on January 3, 1941, and lived there until moving to Jennings over 60 years ago.  She married William Walter “Bill” Williams of Frost, Tx and together they had three children.  She was a homemaker and she enjoyed caring for her grandchildren.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing, baking, word searches, gardening, and yard work.

Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Susan (Mike) Gott of Welsh; two sons, Richard “Tony” (Pat) Williams of Hathaway and Mark (Ramona) Williams of Elton; and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill; her parents; sister Nell Jean Harrell; two brothers, Ray Bertrand and LeRoy Bertrand and a granddaughter, Toni Williams.

She will be carried to her final resting place by her three grandsons, John, Lane, and Joshua Williams and three great grandsons, Xander and Hunter Williams and Dilynn Mallett.
