Joseph Wilson Duhon

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Wilson Duhon, 86, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 24, 2010 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Burial with Military Graveside Honors will be in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. Friday until time of services Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Duhon died at 2:50 a.m., Thursday, April 22, 2010 in the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home. Mr. Duhon was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur and was president of the Lake Arthur High School class of 1941. He served in the Air Force during World War II and was a member of the Lake Arthur VFW Post # 2946. Mr. Duhon was a co-ordinator for youth summer baseball program for many years, he was a basketball referee for many years, played and coached fast pitch adult league softball, was an avid card and domino player, and an avid duck hunter. Survivors include one son, Joseph W. Duhon, Jr. and wife Debbie of Lake Arthur; two step-sons, Keith Hebert of Conroe, TX and Greg Hebert of Victoria, TX; grandchildren, Heather Hanks and husband Chris, Hannah King, Ralph King, III and wife Jill, Holly Duhon and fiance Freddie, Joshua Benoit and wife Sherry; great grandchildren Elissa Hoffpauir, Cameron Hanks, Lexie King, Dylan Benoit and Noah Benoit; one great great grandchild, Holden Hoffpauir and four step-grandchildren, Gregory Hebert, Jenna Hebert, Misty Smith and Shawn Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Leona Crader Duhon, brothers, Stephen Joseph Duhon, Albert Joseph Duhon, Norris Duhon, his twin brother Wilfred Duhon and companion Eula Mae Fullwood.
