JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Joseph JU Fruge, Sr., 77, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1. 2012 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Very Reverend Anthony Fontenot officiating. Burial will be in the Bertrand Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 11:00 am. until 10:00 p.m., Monday; and 8:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services. A rosary led by Knights of Columbus will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Monday in the funeral home chapel followed by a Scripture Service led by Deacon Bennett McNeal. Mr. Fruge died at 3:10 p.m. Saturday, April 28 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mr. Fruge was a lifelong resident of Jennings. He was a retired oilfield construction foreman and served in the National Guard. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus # 9110, CFMA and played guitar with Joe Simon and the Louisiana Cajuns and numerous other area bands. Survivors include his wife, Amailine Lopez Fruge of Jennings; three daughters, Liz and Edwin Boo Cormier of Hathaway, Jolayne Cormier and her companion Wendy Gary of Jennings, Cindy and Darrell Batey of Vidalia; two sons, Wayne and Shirley Fruge of Jennings, Joseph (Joey)Fruge, Jr. and wife Heather of Jennings; one sister, Amy Gotte of Evangeline; two brothers, Lawrence Fruge, Jr. of Lake Arthur, John Ludren Fruge of Baton Rouge; 11 grandchildren and 13 ½ great-grandchildren.
