Joseph Terry Bussy

Lake Arthur A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Joseph Terrell Terry Bussy, 77, will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Burial will be in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation on Sunday, June 1, 2014 will be from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. Bussy died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 3:20 a.m. at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Arthur and a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. He graduated Valedictorian from Lake Arthur High School in 1954, received his BA from ULL (formerly SLI) in Industrial Arts and a BA from Holy Cross College in Business. Mr. Bussy retired from the United States Air Force as a Lt. Colonel having served in the Vietnam War and then retired as a road supervisor for Jefferson Davis Parish. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Coalition Choir, Our Lady of the Lake Church Choir, Faith Renewal, Dukes of Rhythm Band and the Then and Now Family Band. He served on the Lake Arthur Housing Authority Board, former trustee on the Pastoral Council. Mr. Bussy is survived by his daughter; Nicole Bussy and fiance Pete Doland of Lake Arthur, LA, a son; Michael Bussy and fiance Rhonda Simon of Lake Arthur, LA, two sisters; Joetta (Leroy) LaPoint of Lake Arthur and Sydney (Gerald) Trahan of Lake Arthur, LA, two grandchildren; Brooke and Brittney Broussard of Lake Arthur and a great-grandson, Blayson Broussard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Irvin and Lena Mae Broussard Bussy, his wife, Lynne Howard Bussy and a sister, Lydia Bussy Elliott.
