The family of Mr. Joseph “Joe” Bertrand will receive friends and family on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh from 9:00 a.m. until the Memorial Mass  at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Allen Trouille.

A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the church.

Entombment will be in Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church Mausoleum in Welsh under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Mr. Bertrand died at 11:09 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital.

Mr. Bertrand was a lifelong resident of Welsh and was a retired Electrician for the Town of Welsh.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Judy Ardoin Bertrand; one son, Jonathan Bertrand of Welsh; his twin sister, Josie Dean Bertrand Ardoin and husband Thomas of Welsh; sister-in-law, Leora Bertrand, brother-in-law Harold Erixon; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Clyde and Ida Clement Bertrand; two sisters, Juanita Tate and Iona Erixon; and one brother, Warren “Brud” Bertrand.
