JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. John Michael LaPoint, Sr., 55, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2011 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Burial will be in the Hanks Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 9:00 a.m., Friday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m., Friday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. LaPoint died at 1:55 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2011 in the Summerwood Nursing Home in Crowley. Mr. LaPoint was a native of Jennings and a resident of Rayne for 12 years. He was a high school graduate and in auto parts sales for over 37 years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ramona Dupuis LaPoint; his mother, Eula L. LaPoint of Jennings; one daughter, Debra Navarre of Jennings; one son, John Michael (Loni) LaPoint, Jr. of Lafayette; three step-children, Marcus McClelland of Florida, Chad (Crystal) McClelland of Rayne and Tawana (Samuel) Hairston of North Carolina; one sister, Jeannette LaPoint of Jennings; three brothers, Calvin J. LaPoint, Jr. of Brazil, Edward LaPoint, Sr. of Thibodaux, Randall LaPoint, Sr. of Jennings; and fourteen grandchildren and one on the way. Mr. LaPoint was preceded in death by his father, Calvin LaPoint and two brothers, David W. and Glenn J. LaPoint. Pallbearers will be John LaPoint, Jr., Chad McClelland, Edward LaPoint, Clofe Leleaux, Jonathan Leleaux and Russell Lavergne. Honorary Pallbearers will be Randall LaPoint, Sr. and Laurent Lavergne.
