John Lee Bellard

Mr. John Lee Bellard, 72, of Abbeville, LA passed away on June 8, 2021 at Maison Du Monde Living Center.  Mr. Bellard was born on March 28, 1949 in Gueydan, Louisiana to parents Lawrence and Zula Blanchard Bellard.

He worked for many years in the oil industry after serving his country honorably in the Army during the Viet Nam war.  Mr. Bellard enjoyed the abundance of outdoor recreation in our area, especially fishing and crabbing.  He also loved to cook outside whether it was barbecue or his catch of the day.

Visitation for Mr. Bellard will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Arthur from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Mr. Bellard will be cremated after according to his wishes.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Billie Joyce Gary Bellard; his parents; son, Christopher Lee Bellard; sister, Lucy Cormier and a brother, Franklin Bellard.

Mr. Bellard is survived by his daughter, Johnette (Daphne) Gary of Kaplan.

His family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff of Maison Du Monde Living Center and LAMM Hospice for the excellent care Mr. John received.
