JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. John Uncle John Guilbeau, 82, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 19, 2010 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony Fontenot officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. today, Thursday; and 8:00 A.M., Friday until time of services. A rosary led by Deacon Bennett McNeal will be recited at 7:00 P.M. today, Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Guilbeau died at 7:35 A.M. Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mr. Guilbeau was a native and livelong resident of Jennings; a graduate of the Jennings High School class of 1945 where he played football from 1944-1945, and a retired welder for the SBA and LeeVac Shipyards. He was a faithful Saints Fan and was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include three sisters, Margaret Fontenot of Jennings, Frances Myers and husband Daniel of Jennings and Beulah Wadkins of Sulphur; four brothers, Claude Butch Guilbeau and wife Joyce of Sulphur, Francis Giz Guilbeau, Jr. and wife Kathy of Cameron, Larry Guilbeau and wife Gladys of Grand Lake and Carl Guilbeau and wife DeeDee of Lake Charles. Mr. Guilbeau was preceded in death by his parents, Francis H. and Ethel Kershaw Guilbeau and three sisters, Mary Quebedeaux, Teresa Gotreaux and Lou Ann Gray.
