A Celebration of Life Visitation and Memorial service for Mr. John Emerson Bolles, 75 of Jennings, will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Victory Gospel Lighthouse Church in Jennings.  Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with the service starting at 6:00 p.m.  Officiating the services will be Pastor Austin Spell and Pastor Paul Cavenah.  In accordance with Mr. Bolles wishes, the family has chosen cremation.

Mr. Bolles began his new life with his Heavenly Father on New Year’s Day 2022.

Mr. Bolles was born on May 17, 1946, in Jennings to parents Ezra Emerson and Vicie “Vicki” Mae Fontenot Bolles.  He graduated from Elton High School and attended McNeese State University for a time. He was a multi generation farmer and retired from the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home.

He enjoyed deer hunting, and often used his proceeds to make sausage.  He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and friends.  He also loved music and he played many instruments when he was younger.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Mattie Copenhaver Bolles; a daughter, DaNae (Stephen) Cole of Spring, TX; son, Shane (Belinda) Bolles of Jennings; sister, Deloris Pitre of Elton; six grandchildren, Jason (Sheleece) Bolles, Brett (Courtney) Bolles, Kristin (Martin) Rames, Julia Cole, Elizabeth Bolles and Emily Cole; and four great grandchildren, Emmie, Abby, Everley and Emmett Bolles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son John Emerson Bolles, II; sister, Avy Ellen Soileau and a brother, Gary Keith Bolles.
