John Eldrege Epperly

Jennings Funeral services for Mr. John E. Epperly, 89, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Jack Harris officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2nd, and from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. Mr. Epperly died at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28th, 2009 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mr. Epperly was a native of Welsh and lifelong resident of Jennings. He was a graduate of Welsh High School and worked as an oilfield roustabout. He was a member of the First Church of Christ and was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Epperly is survived by two daughters, Lynette Layton and husband, Paul of Lumberton, Texas and Wendy LePrettre and husband, Donald of Opelika, Ala. and a brother, Robert Jack Epperly of Welsh, La. He is survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mr. Epperly was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Newman Epperly and a grandson, Trent LePrettre.
