The family of John Bordelon, 93, of Jennings, announces his passing on August 27, 2024.
John was born February 2, 1931, in Bunkie, LA, to Armand and Livonia Bordelon. He was a man of many accomplishments and passions throughout his life. John served his country during the Korean War in the Air Force and later transitioned to a successful career as the Director of Economic Development at Entergy.
Beyond his professional achievements, John had a kind and giving spirit, which led him to volunteer at various organizations. He was a dedicated member of the Lions Club and served as President for many years. Always one to lend a helping hand, John spent time cooking at the Beaumont soup kitchen and volunteering at St. Elizabeth Hospital. In his free time, John enjoyed the outdoors, particularly duck hunting with his family, and found solace in serving as an Altar server at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church during the Latin Mass Era. He cherished moments spent with his family, including his beloved wife, Bobbie.
A Memorial Mass to honor and remember John's life will be held on Saturday August 31, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings, with Father Michael Caraway officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday August 31, 2024, at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings, from 10:00 a.m. until the time to depart for church. Military Honors will be held at 11:30 a.m., in the chapel, for his dedication to our country.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bobbie Bordelon; daughter, Deborah “David” Tweedel, Jeff “Jane” Bordelon and Paul “Raquel” Bordelon; grandchildren, Staci Boudreaux, Marcus Peet, Lauren Jackson, Kerry Solari, Erin Goode, Beau Bordelon, Gabrielle Bordelon, Tyler Bordelon and Blake Hooks; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
