Joe Blaine Slaughter

LAKE ARTHUR Memorial services for Mr. Joe Blaine Slaughter, 35, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2013 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt Clough and Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. Funeral home visitation will be from 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2013 until time of services. Mr. Slaughter died at 1:26 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Slaughter was an avid fisherman and loved the great outdoors. He recently traveled to his other distant home to await the arrival of his loving family. Joes hearty laugh and larger than life presence will be missed dearly by all. Survivors include his father, Robert Lee Slaughter, Jr. of Kilgore, Texas; his mother, Mary Anna Johnson of Lake Charles; son, Donovan Blaine Slaughter of Lake Charles; daughter, Brianna Nicole Peoples of Lake Charles; brother, James Slaughter and wife Tracy Slaughter of Lake Charles; maternal grandparents, Bonnie Paul Broussard and Beatriz Chang Broussard; paternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Ann Slaughter, Sr. and Kelly Peoples, the mother of his children. He was preceded in death by maternal great grandparents, Carlos and Vincenta Chang and Albany and Inez Broussard and paternal great grandparents, Elizabeth Dickerson, Charles Kaylor and Lena and Gordon Slaughter.
