Jocelyn Marie Schmidt

Jennings Funeral services for Mrs. Jocelyn “Joyce” Bertand Schmidt, 61 will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Burial will be in the Bertrand Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Mrs. Schmidt died September 29, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Joyce enjoyed playing Bingo at Minnie HaHa. They were like her second family. Joyce also enjoyed dancing, especially jitter-bugging and country western. She also enjoyed watching TV, especially her favorite soap opera “All My Children.” She also enjoyed the Oldie Goldies such as “I Love Lucy, “Dick Van Dyke, “Andy Griffith” and all of the TV Land Shows. Joyce also was an avid card player and she also enjoyed playing pool. Jocelyn was employed at th AMC and retired after 15 years of service. She also ran the office at T & G Productions for four years and her latest job was a phone solicitor for State Farm Insurance. She was also a homemaker. Joyce was a fun-loving person with a rest for life. She was always the life of the party. She never met a stranger and if you knew her, you would think she was a ray of sunshine. Her first love was spending time with her family. Joyce is survived by two sisters, Pat Forsyth and husband Tom of Choctaw, OK and Sheila Hunt and husband Ralph of Moore, OK; a brother, Gene Bertrand and wife Glenna of Oklahoma City, OK. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Lula Mae (Vassal) Bertrand; her husband, David Schmidt and a brother, Tommy Bertrand.
