Joann Varnum

JoAnn Varnum, 84, loving wife and mother, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021, her husband, and daughter at her side.  

JoAnn was born in Eunice, LA.  She met and married her husband while he was in the Air Force stationed in Wichita Falls, TX in 1952. After her husband was discharged from the military, they moved to Long Island, New York where they raised their family. After 26 years in New York, her husband retired from Long Island Railroad and they moved back down south to Bancroft, LA.  JoAnn fulfilled her passion to help others and obtained her nursing degree at the age of 50.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, Harvey “Bud” Varnum; her daughter, Valarie Walker of Carlyss; and numerous relatives.

She is preceded in death by her two sons, Roland Varnum and Russell Paul Varnum.

JoAnn was a beautiful and loving woman, and a devout Christian.
