JENNINGS

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Lee Ramsdell, 82, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 16,2018 in the Church of Jesus LDS chapel, 1718 N. Cutting Avenue, with Elder Gary Bergold officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in the China Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 p.m. Monday until time of services.

Mr. Ramsdell died at 10:30 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2018 in the Grand Cove Nursing Home in Lake Charles.

Mr. Ramsdell was a native of Kansas and a resident of Iowa, LA since 1974.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean and Vietnam war.  He retired as a SGT. First Class in the U.S. Army. 

Survivors include three daughters, Christine (Johnny Costello) Nevils of Katy, TX, Lisa (Alan) Walker of Blue Springs, MO, Sabrina (Billy) Beaty; three sons, Jimmy Ramsdell, Jr. of Blue Springs, MO, Jacob (Ellen) Ramsdell of Dequincy, James Ramsdell also of Dequincy; and 18 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents James Willard and Lillian Farmer Ramsdell; his wife, Vickie Fontenot Ramsdell and one son, Johnathan Ramsdell.
