Funeral services for Mr. Jimmie Lee Martin, 79, of Jennings, will be held on Tuesday June 6, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Josh Belt officiating. Burial will take place in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. 

A visitation will be held in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.

Jimmie was born January 24, 1944, in Jennings, Louisiana to Elce Martin and Matilda Romero. Being a native to the Jennings area, Jimmie was a very hard-working man. He worked as a welder at LeeVac Shipyard for many years and Louisiana DOTD which he loved. Over the years, if know Jimmie, you can often find him walking around collecting the tabs off cans and crushing the cans themselves. He will always hold a special place in our hearts and will never be forgotten. 

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Jaunita Lege of Gueydan; and brother-in-law, Clofe (Mary) Leleaux of Jennings. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Martin; his companion, Eula Lapoint; his parents; daughter, Selina Martin; sisters, Betty Suire and Lena Hebert; and brothers, Elce, Daniel and Joseph Martin.

The family would like to thank the staff at Jeff Davis Living Center and Ashley with Lamn Hospice for the wonderful care they have given Mr. Jimmie over the past few years.
