Funeral Services for Mr. Jimmie Gary, 87, of Jennings will be held on Saturday September 10, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. in the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, with Father William Miller officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Lawrence Community Cemetery with Military Honors under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. and will continue until 8:00 p.m.  A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Visitation will resume on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. until the time to depart for church at 11:00 a.m.

Mr. Jimmie was born on December 20, 1934, in Jennings, Louisiana, to Henry and Clara Crochet Gary. He proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed gardening, canning his vegetables, fishing in his pond, cutting grass, woodworking, washing his truck every Saturday, sitting outside watching purple martins and hummingbirds. He loved Sunday gatherings. His family meant everything to him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Kim Castillo of Elton, Elaine (Troy) Hebert of Broussard, Monite (Harvey) Blanchard of New Iberia; five sons, Gerald (Rebecca) Gary of Hathaway, Keith (Patricia) Gary of Holmwood, Kenneth (Renee) Gary of Jennings, Lee (Jackie) Lemaire of New Iberia, Jacque (Jenny) Lemaire of New Iberia; one sister, Lucy Deshotel of Jennings; two brothers, LeRoy (Faye) Gary, Merlin Gary both of Evangeline; thirty grandchildren; fourty great grandchildren with one on the way; and one great-great grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Laura Bergeaux, Geneva Gary; and brother, Ricky Gary.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Gary, Stewart Gary, Collin Gary, Chandler Gary, Nicholas Gary, Jimmie Cy Gary, and Dakota Castillo.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Fontenot, Cody Castillo, Bear Castillo, Dylan Hebert, Reese Freyou.
