LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mrs. Jewel Broussard Boutte, 93, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2009 in the Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., today, Tuesday; and 8:00 a.m., Wednesday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., today, Tuesday, in the funeral home chapel. Mrs. Boutte died at 9:30 a.m., Monday, April 20, 2009 at her residence in Lake Arthur. Mrs. Boutte was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur and a homemaker. She was past chairman of the Democratic Party of Lake Arthur; member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the garden club, and founding member of the Lake Arthur Library Club. Survivors include two daughters, Gay Lynne Boutte of Independence, LA, Melaine Berken and husband Stephen of Lake Arthur; three grandchildren, Jason Berken and wife Kayla, Joey Berken and wife Rebecca, and Kerri Berken Chiasson and husband Ryan and four great-grandchildren, Stephen, Andrew, Kennedi and Kathryn. Mrs. Boutte was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Hattie Foreman Broussard, her husband, Julius A. Boutte, one son, Greg Boutte, three sisters, Gaynel Arceneaux, Aline Trouard and Barbara Davies; two brothers, O.B. Broussard and Van Dyke Broussard.
