Jerry Esthay, Jr.

Jerry Michael Esthay, Jr., 53, of Iota passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Jerry was born on March 22, 1971, in Jennings to Jerry Esthay, Sr. and Katherine Daigle. He graduated from Iota high school and attended LSUE college. He was called into active duty with the National Guard during Desert Storm. Mr. Esthay worked for Capitol Manufacturing as a machinist. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His favorite family time was any gathering and especially if it involved cooking.

Those left to cherish his memory are one son, Bryce (Erika) Esthay; his father, Jerry Esthay, Sr.; sister, Lucrecia (Vincent) Mouser; and two brothers, Claude (Gaylen) Esthay and Stacy Esthay; uncle, Richard Esthay; and aunt, Shelly (Melvin) Ledoux. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Daigle; paternal grandparents, Coma Phipps Esthay and Claude Esthay; maternal grandparents, Dorothy Miller Daigle and Melton Daigle; uncle, John Wayne Daigle; and two children. 

Cremation is under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

A memorial service is being planned by the family.
