Jena Marie Hoffpauir passed away unexpectedly at her home in Lake Arthur on September 8, 2020.  Jena was born in Jennings, Louisiana on January 7, 1993.

Jena was a 2012 graduate of Lake Arthur High and a 2015 graduate of Sowela Technical College where she earned a degree in Process Technology.

Jena was a loving and compassionate person who loved to be silly.  She had the most beautiful, infectious smile.  Not to be fooled, she was also headstrong and overly dedicated to what she put her mind to.  She loved children and enjoyed horseplay with her younger cousins and nephew.  She loved sports, being the only female to play high school football at Lake Arthur High.  She loved all things outdoors, mostly hunting with her dad and her beloved dog, Sarge.  She also enjoyed working cattle. Jena was a great friend to all and was always available to lend a hand to those in need.

Services for Jena will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Keith Pellerin officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in Jennings.  A rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with the Catholic Daughters.  Visitation will end at 9:00 p.m.  It will resume at 8:00 a.m. Friday morning and continue until time of service.

Jena was the middle child of Steven and Colette Woods Hoffpauir.  Her two siblings, Jada Hoffpauir Ortego (Chase) and Jeanne Hoffpauir Newsom (Tyler) always knew that Jena had their back if needed.  She also loved and spoiled her nephew, Rylan Chase Ortego and was looking forward to spoiling baby Newsom later this year.

Jena is also survived by her grandfather Donald Woods; uncles, Ivy (Bridget) Woods, Edwin (Meredith) Woods, Chad (Donna) Woods, Willy (Sue) Hoffpauir and Jared Hoffpauir; aunts, Nichole (Danny) Woods Sonnier, Peggy (Blaine) Harrington, Katherine “Kitty” Hoffpauir, Susan (Johnny) Granger, Sandra (Benny) Lognion and Pamela (Keith) Derouen. She is also survived by numerous cousins.

Pallbearers will be Conrad Hensgens, Isaac and Ivan Woods, Scott and Brandon Harrington and Michael Granger.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Rylan and Chase Ortego, Tyler Newsom, Hans and Nick Hensgens, Saidi, John Cole, Ian and Joe Woods and Paige Lacomb.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Cecile “Tillie” Woods and Willie and Aline Hoffpauir.
