Lake Arthur Funeral services for Jeanne Elise Brousssard will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Arthur, LA with Dr. Daniel OReagan officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service. Jeanne was born in Lake Arthur, LA on November 13, 1937. She passed away on August 12, 2013 at Arc of Acadiana in Iota at the age of 75. Jeanne was preceded in death by her younger brother John Taber Deedee Broussard; her father Wilson L. Broussard and her mother Augusta Taber Boussard Porter. She is survived by her sister Beverly OReagan and husband Dr. Daniel OReagan of Pineville, LA and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jeanne attended public school in Lake Arthur through high school when she moved to a group home in Jennings. In 1960 she moved to Southwest Regional Support and Services Center, now ARC of Acadian in Iota, LA. Jeanne was always fond of animals which she had as pets. Jeannes pets gave her unconditional love and in that sense, in some ways, they were her best friends. Later in life when Jeanne could no longer take care of her living animal pets, she became fond of stuffed animals. Her favorite stuffed animal was a little dog that she named Tiger . Jeanne and her entire family have a deep appreciation for the doctors, nurses and staff of the Iota Center and Crowley American Legion Hospital.
