In the early morning hours of Saturday, April 13, 2024, Jeanette B. Biggleston, 87, of Jennings, left this earthly world for the arms of Jesus.
Jeanette was born on December 27, 1936, in Poplarville, MS to Jake and Velma Spiers Baughman. After graduating from high school and attending college, Jeannette went to work at a retirement/nursing home where she worked her way up to office supervisor. Sometime after retiring, Jeannette moved from West Palm Beach, FL to Jennings, LA in 2017, to be near her daughter, Jeanine Matte, and her husband Art.
Jeannette enjoyed spending time with her family and was especially excited to see her grandchildren and great grandchildren whenever she had the opportunity. She enjoyed playing bingo, but a trip with her family and friends to visit the casinos was always welcome and brought a brilliant smile to her face. She also loved reading and spent many hours immersing herself in the pages of a good novel. Jeannette loved and enjoyed her life and left an imprint on her family of memories and happy times.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jeanine Matte and husband Art of Jennings, daughter Cary Ward and husband Rick of Bradenton, FL.,
and a son, Barry Biggleston; her sister, Linda Thompson of Port St. Lucie, FL; four grandchildren, Chris Ward, Lauren Kimbriel, Wesley George, and Jake Biggleston; as well as five great grandchildren, Ava Klaire, Kelby and Kolt Kimbriel, Phoebe Ward and Katie Beth Biggleston.
Mrs. Biggleston was preceded in death by her husband, Garry Biggleston; her parents, Jake and Velma Baughman; a sister, Della Lopez and a brother, James Baughman.
In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Biggleston was cremated under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
